story

Origin: OF. Estore, estoree, built, erected, p.p. Of estorer to build, restore, to store. See Store.

A set of rooms on the same floor or level; a floor, or the space between two floors. Also, a horizontal division of a building's exterior considered architecturally, which need not correspond exactly with the stories within.

Alternative forms: storey.

A story comprehends the distance from one floor to another; as, a story of nine or ten feet elevation. The spaces between floors are numbered in order, from below upward; as, the lower, second, or third story; a house of one story, of two stories, of five stories. Story post, a vertical post used to support a floor or superincumbent wall.

1. A narration or recital of that which has occurred; a description of past events; a history; a statement; a record. One malcontent who did indeed get a name in story. 2. The relation of an incident or minor event; a short narrative; a tale; especially, a fictitious narrative less elaborate than a novel; a short romance.

3. A euphemism or child's word for a lie; a fib; as, to tell a story.

... statements promulgated with a religious fervour, and any dissent from that view is considered heretical. The problem with all these just so stories is that they fall apart when the detail is examined. Wouldn't it be nice to see some real science showing how Natural Selection produces a gene. ...

read; heaven is for real by Todd Burpo. I have met this author and find him to be rather credible. his young son had nde, and tells amazing stories about people never met etc.

I am so glad to finally find out this is normal. As a little kid ( 14 years old now) I would love it when the teacher would read us stories in kindergarten. I'd often fall asleep listening to her turn the pages, the way her thumb and finger rub against it and the friction of the fingers ...

Near death experience is something that already borders the edges of Biologic science, it has a LOT of sceptics, but i found that in one of the stories there IS something that CAN be experimented and proven by biological science, and IF this is true, it means a break thru in biology science. ...
