Sternomastoid muscle



(anatomy) Any of the paired muscle of the anterolateral portion of the neck, with origin from the manubrium of the sternum and clavicle and insertion at the mastoid process of the temporal bone of the skull, and which serves to rotate the head obliquely from side to side
