(Science: botany) A kind of larkspur (Delphinium Staphysagria), and its seeds, which are violently purgative and emetic. They are used as a parasiticide, and in the East for poisoning fish.

Origin: Corrupted from NL. Staphis agria, Gr. Dried grape _ wild.
