Cessation of activity.

atrial standstill, cessation of atrial contractions, marked by absence of atrial waves in the electrocardiogram.

Synonym: auricular standstill.

The sugar should be spelled ribulose. I don't think there is an acceptable alternative (Jack would know for sure, he's a plant phys guy).
