Stage mechanical

stage mechanical

(Science: microscopy) A small fixture, either built into the light microscope stage or attached separately, it holds the specimen slide and has two horizontal screw adjustments at right angles to each other. The screw motions permit the specimen to be moved as desired. The quantitative type has vermer scales for reading the amount of displacement to 0.1 mm. This stage is sometimes called the traversing stage.
