squill

1. (Science: botany) A European bulbous liliaceous plant (urginea, formerly scilla, maritima), of acrid, expectorant, diuretic, and emetic properties used in medicine. Called also sea onion. Any bulbous plant of the genus Scilla; as, the bluebell squill (S. Mutans).
