... to figure it out. Plant or animal tissue? It seems like sugarcane epidermis, but it also seems like fenestrate membrane in artery or something squamous epithelium hmm.. :?

... like someone has already posed it is probably refering to layer of dense irregular connective tissue that lies under basal layer of the stratified squamous and the layer of simple columnar epithelium.
