Cyst in the spleen that may be classified as either true cyst or pseudocyst.


Supplement

A true spleen cyst is one that is congenital and with a smooth cystic wall. A pseudocyst is the more common type, with no epithelial lining, and a cystic wall that may or may not be calcified. A pseudocyst is not congenital but is associated with trauma during childhood.
