Re: Molecular gene (genome) concept scientifically untenable... is that you think that genes are supposed to be deterministic. Of course, there are other inputs as well, namely environmental ones. The genome specifies a range of possible responses to the environment.

Are STOP codons involved in both TRANSCRIPTION & TRANSLATION... translation the other textbook said "Transcription of the DNA strand ends at another special nucleotide sequence called a terminator, which specifies the end of the gene." I think Terminator is another way of saying stop codon here. So yeah this textbook says its involved in transcription. ...
