Southern blot analysis

A procedure to separate and identify dNA sequences; dNA fragments are separated by electrophoresis on an agarose gel, transferred (blotted) onto a nitrocellulose or nylon membrane, and hybridised with complementary (labelled) nucleic acid probes.
