... question. So, how can I define amino acids in termsof ionization? Of course I can talk about pH, pK etc., but they are never unionized, even as solids; if I start with "dipolar ions"; they aren't always that, and bringing in the definition of "intramolecular neutralization"... ...

Conversion confusion

... You're not going to be able to make very much of your stock solution. Only about 3.29 ul, I reckon, not adjusting for the volume occupied by the solids.

Equipment for correct sterilisation?

In effect, you are putting things in an oven and baking them to 140-150 C when you sterilize solids on the dry cycle of an autoclave. You don't need steam for solids - and you could just as well bake them in an oven for sterilization provided you get the temperature high ...
