Small pancreas

small pancreas --> uncinate process of pancreas

A portion of the head of the pancreas that hooks around posterior to the superior mesenteric vessels, sometimes into the nutcracker formed by the superior mesenteric artery and abdominal aorta.

Synonym: processus uncinatus pancreatis, lesser pancreas, pancreas minus, small pancreas, uncinate pancreas, unciform pancreas, willis' pancreas, winslow's pancreas.

- where would small materials that don't require breakdown, like alcohol, be absorbed? This one left ... the bloodstream still as ethanol (which is why it makes you drunk), so the liver and pancreas must act as the metabolizer.
