A small, light boat. The pilot of some small night-foundered skiff.

(Science: zoology) (milton) Skiff caterpillar, the larva of a moth (Limacodes scapha); so called from its peculiar shape.

Origin: F. Esquif, fr. OHG. Skif, G. Schiff. See Ship.
