silicide

(Science: chemistry) A binary compound of silicon, or one regarded as binary.

(Science: chemistry) hydrogen silicide, a colourless, spontaneously inflammable gas, SiH4, produced artifically from silicon, and analogous to methane.

Synonym: silico-methane, silicon hydride, and formerly siliciureted hydrogen.
