Results from our forumIs possible for natural selection to change the code?i have read that the overall of protein charge should be neutralized. And proteins have more Ala, and less His, Cys, Pro, Ser and Leu than would be expected from codon multiplicities alone. can i say that natural selection can change the code?

Re: fatty acid synthesis... 1) Fatty Acid Synthase (FAS) enzyme is different in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. 2) Length of fatty acid differs 3) Site of synthesis is different (SER in major eukaryotes) 4) Transcription factors and many other genes regulate differently in both.

The normal process of transcription requires:... (DNA template) -> aaaaugcccuccuaacua (mRNA product) Translation: mRNA -> protein aaaaugcccuccuaacua (mRNA template) -> Met-Pro-Ser (peptide product) See if you can figure out the right answer by looking at the examples.
