Dictionary » S » Sequence analysis Sequence analysissequence analysis A multistage process that includes the determination of a sequence (protein, carbohydrate, etc.), its fragmentation and analysis, and the interpretation of the resulting sequence information. This information is useful in that it: 1) reveals the similarities of homologous genes, thereby providing insight into the possible regulation and functions of these genes; and 2) leads to a better understanding of disease states related to genetic variation. New sequencing methodologies, fully automated instrumentation, and improvements in sequencing-related computational resources contribute to the potential for genome-size sequencing projects. ![]()

Results from our forumData analysis: DNA alignment HELP?... functioned as the catalysts for cell cycle progression. To isolate a cDNA encoding a CDK in maize, investigators aligned the predicted amino acid sequences of human cdc2, S. pombe cdc2, and S. cerevisiae cdc28 genes. Degenerate oligonucleotide PCR primers corresponding to the boxed amino acids ...

Sequence analysisOk, so there's a gene ns5 in chicken virus X that I have to look at. I found the amino acid sequence of the gene and compare this with the amino acid sequences of known proteins (in a database). I has about 200 results of related proteins. The more identities and positives ...

Re: restriction analysisthanks a lot I understood little bit , but in my case as told to me that the ordered nucleotide sequence will be incoroporated with the plasmid and then i have to to subclone it into E.coli TOF competent cell and then i have to plate it select for the colonies and then ...

Re:... papiro :) prediction of your restriction. For that you either past your sequence into some program and selects appropriate REs and it will show you ... reply.. but can u explain me in expanded form how to do the restriction analysis.. suppose i have a vector of 3.3kb and if i make the double digestion ...
