Secondary lymphoid organ



The bodily organ where cells of RES carry out their functions.


Examples of secondary lymphoid organs are gut-associated lymphoid tissue, mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue, Kupffer cells in liver sinusoids, and microglia of the Central Nervous System.

Synonym: peripheral lymphoid organ
