Second branchial arch



(embryology) The hyoid arch; the second pair of the branchial arch series in vertebrate embryos that is contains a mesoderm core surrounded by a layer of endoderm (inner) and ectoderm (outer). It will develop soon into stapes, styloid process, stylohyoid ligament, and lesser cornu of the hyoid bone
