Sagittal axis




(1) An anatomical axis or imaginary line that lies perpendicular to the sagittal plane.

(2) The antomical line that lies in the frontal plane.


In dentistry, the sagittal axis is the line around which rotations in the frontal plane occur during lateral mandibular movement.
