... a broom going over the floor. Another example that I can think of off the top of my head would be when a horse is standing still and sometimes rubs his hoof over the ground, making a similar type of brushing sound. There might be other sounds that do it, but the only one I definitely know of ...

I have a Gold-Capped Conure and he rubs his beak when he is comfortable/happy. He does it as a part of his general cleaning habits and preening.
