RNA virus

A group of virus's in which the core consists of rNA; a major group of animal virus's that includes the families picornaviridae, reoviridae, togaviridae, flaviviridae, bunyaviridae, arenaviridae, paramyxoviridae, retroviridae, coronaviridae, orthomyxoviridae, and rhabdoviridae.

Synonym: ribovirus.
