Rivinus notch

Rivinus' notch; tympanic notch

1. The notch in the superior part of the tympanic ring bridged by the flaccid part of the tympanic membrane. 2. A difficiency/notch in the (tympanic annular) ring of connective tissue that holds the tympanic membrane in Place.

Synonym: incisura tympanica, incisura rivini, rivinus incisure, rivinus notch, tympanic incisure, notch of rivinus.
