1. An instrument for measuring the extent of the respiratory movements.

2. An instrument for measuring oxygen consumption or carbon dioxide production, usually of an isolated tissue.

Origin: L. Respiro, to breathe, _ G. Metron, measure An instrument that can measure the uptake of oxygen by an animal in respiration.

... For the third one you have to do the lab(or read about it somewhere else). I don't know what mung beans are. For the fourth, look up respirometer, for example here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Respirometer

Effect of heat on respiration in organisms

Can you please explain the effect of heat on respiration in organisms. I am trying to write a report for an experiment I havent done involving a respirometer and maggots, and I am struggling to find relevant information
