Genomic Imprinting In Humans (and classical genetics)

... let any transcription factors bind to their elements for transcription. So you can have the allele, but it won't be expressed: a type of constant repression. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19220199?ordinalpos=5&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum

Re: Cloning and Telomerase

... shortening chromosomes that eventually can’t function normally. One of the steps required for the in vitro immortalization of cell lines is the de-repression of telomerase to enable the telomeres to be continually restored. They are learning how to do more with differentiated cells. Recently, there ...

Questions regarding lac/trp operons

... 2. What will happen to the expression of trp when trp is removed from the following cultures? Assume attenuation accounts for 10-fold and repression accounts for 70-fold. a) trp repressor protein mutant ANS. With no repressor to bind to the operator, expression is only limited by attenuation. ...
