Dictionary » R » Regional continuity model Regional continuity modelDefinition noun A scientific model supported by Milford Wolpoff in which it holds that the modern humans came from a single, continuous lineage of early human species in a localized, simultaneous fashion.
For instance, modern Africans originated from early Africans that evolved from African hominids whereas the modern Asians came from archaic Asians that evolved from Asian hominids. This theory is to contrast the out of Africa model which holds that all modern humans came from a single line of hominids that initially lived in Africa then dispersed in various regions of the world.
