1. (Science: zoology) A quadruped, probably the addax, an antelope having a white rump.

2. (Science: zoology) The female of the hen harrier. The sea eagle.

Origin: L. Pygargus, Gr, literally, white rump; the rump _ white: cf. F. Pygargue.
