Results from our forumgametophye and sporophyte... and "sporophyte" can't be used to refer to the life cycle of fungi. About the most dominant part of the life cycle, in Basidiomycetes (mushrooms, puffballs, etc.) the "dominant" one is the basidiocarp "stage", the "fruiting" body that has gills underneath for spore growth and protection.
