A centriole in a spermatozoon located close or anterior to nucleus.

This is in contrast to distal centriole that is located far from the nuclear region.

Hello. Can anyone help me understand the difference underlying a proximal and distal centriole and their relationship (if any) with a mother/daughter centriole. Thanks.
