Progressive vaccinia

progressive vaccinia

A severe or even fatal form of vaccinia occurring chiefly in subjects with an immunologic deficiency or dyscrasia and characterised by progressive enlargement of the initial and also of secondary lesions.

Synonym: vaccinia gangrenosa.
