(Science: zoology) A swallow.

A genus of swallows including the purple martin. See Martin.

An American butterfly (Polygonia, or vanessa, Progne). It is orange and black above, grayish beneath, with an L-shaped silver mark on the hind wings.

Synonym: gray comma.
