proglumide

(Science: chemical) 4-benzamido-n,n-dipropylglutaramic acid. A drug that exerts an inhibitory effect on gastric secretion and reduces gastrointestinal motility. It is used clinically in the drug therapy of gastrointestinal ulcers.

Pharmacological action: anti-ulcer agents.
