Praziquantel

praziquantel

(Science: chemical) 2-(cyclohexylcarbonyl)-1,2,3,6,7,11b-hexahydro-4h-pyrazino(2,1-a)isoquinolin-4-one. An anthelmintic used in most schistosome and many cestode infestations. It may be given orally, parenterally or by nasal spray.

Pharmacological action: antiplatyhelmintic agents.

Chemical name: 4H-Pyrazino(2,1-a)isoquinolin-4-one, 2-(cyclohexylcarbonyl)-1,2,3,6,7,11b-hexahydro-
