Potomac horse fever --> equine monocytic ehrlichiosis

(Science: veterinary) A febrile disease of horses in North America caused by ehrlichia risticii and characterised by anorexia, leukopenia, and occasional diarrhoea.

Synonym: potomac horse fever.
