Polyvinylpyrrolidone

polyvinylpyrrolidone

(Science: chemical) polymer used to bind phenols in plant homogenates and hence to protect other molecules, especially enzymes, from inactivation by phenols. Also occasionally used to produce viscous media for gradient centrifugation.
