plantar arch

The arterial arch formed by the lateral plantar artery running across the bases of the metatarsal bones and anastomosing with the dorsal pedis artery, either of two bony arch's of the foot, longitudinal arch or transverse arch.

Synonym: arcus plantaris, plantar arterial arch.
