Pityrosporum ovale

Pityrosporum ovale --> Malassezia ovalis

A species of yeast found in superficial epidermal scales and hair follicles on oily skin, of borderline pathogenicity; may cause seborrheic dermatitis associated with immune deficiency.

Synonym: pityrosporum ovale.
