(Science: botany) A low evergreen plant (Chimaphila umbellata), with narrow, wedge-lanceolate leaves, and an umbel of pretty nodding fragrant blossoms. It has been used in nephritic diseases.

Synonym: prince's pine.

Origin: From American Indian.
