Philadelphia chromosome

(Science: genetics, oncology) characteristic chromosomal abnormality in which a portion of chromosome 22 is translocated to chromosome 9. This abnormality is found in nearly all cases of chronic myeloid leukaemia and some cases of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
