phenoperidine

(Science: chemical) A narcotic analgesic partly metabolised to meperidine in the liver. It is similar to morphine in action and used for neuroleptanalgesia, usually with droperidol.

Pharmacological action: analgesics, opioid, narcotics.

Chemical name: 4-Piperidinecarboxylic acid, 1-(3-hydroxy-3-phenylpropyl)-4-phenyl-, ethyl ester
