(Science: anatomy) The cavity at the back of the mouth. It is cone shaped and has an average length of 76 mm and is lined with mucous membrane. The pharynx opens into the esophagus at the lower end. The passage to the stomach and lungs; in the front part of the neck below the chin and above the collarbone. Opens either the larnyx or the esophagus canal.

HELP with planaria...

... is that it's "juicy," and the planaria will pick up the "smaell" and track it to its source. They climb on it, extend their pharynx and as long as the meat moves gently, stay on it feeding.

A *Click* in the Neck

Has anyone experienced some sort of clicking-thing in their neck as their head is moved from left to right? anatomically, within the pharynx/larynx areas? I just like to know.

The mosquito is pumping blood into its pharynx - I'm not even sure they have a mouth with a space blood could stay in.
