Re: Enzymes and ATP

... expertise but I think I can help a bit. I believe the first reaction is a hydrolytic breakdown process, but the second looks characteristic of a peroxisome, which applies strong redox reactions to macromolecules, breaking them down to a specific product and hydrogen peroxide H2O2. I'm taking ...

Indicator

... to indicate clearly that photorespiration occured, then you will need to use a radioactive Oxigen isotope and track it through the cloroplast and peroxisome. However, while the former can be easily done in any college lab, the latter needs ultrasecure conditions to make sure the scientist doesn't ...

Relationship between cell organelles

... organelle. All organelles cannot be generated de novo. Mitochondrion and chloroplast generate themselves by fission. Other organlles: ER, Golgi, peroxisome, lysosomes generate by adding protein and other chemical to the existing ones then the enlarged organelle is divided into 2 or more new organelles. ...

peroxisomal targeting sequence in the thiolase enzyme

... according to the data PTS is located at 1-25 and 150-200 residues. The sygnals are autonomous (each independently of other drives protein into peroxisome).
