Gene knockdowns in the wasp Nasonia vitripennis

... genes ..., it often does not provide significant knockdown of later-acting genes. To overcome this limitation, we designed an Nv eve morpholino overlapping the translation start site, as well as one directed at the exon-intron junction in the homeobox. These two independent morpholinos are expected ...

cell specific markers

... significant part of the aggressor’s population would be potentially vulnerable. In addition, the P450 system comprises many dozens of enzymes with overlapping activities. Targeting a chemical or biological compound to one specific P450 enzyme would be very challenging. A systematic search in two ...

... at a time? Is your aim to clone all variants or are you fine with only some? Well, we initially had 4 sets of primers. I was going to amplify 4 overlapping regions of the gene, run them on a gel, cut out the bands of expected size, purify them, and eventually sequence and ligate them together ...

Re: question for evolutionary biologist.

... contains added watermark sequences for identification of the genome as synthetic and also antibiotic resistance markers to allow for selection. Overlapping cassettes of 1080 were assembled from chemically synthesized oligonucleotides. The complete synthetic genome was assembled by transformation ...
