Opine

Amino acid derivatives that are produced in tumors induced by Agrobacterium T-DNA. To date there are four known opines that have been identified, these are: octopine, nopaline, agropine and succinamopine. The opines synthesized in tumor cells are taken up and utilized by Agrobacterium as sources of nitrogen and carbon.
