(Science: zoology) A large North American lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush). It is usually spotted with red, and sometimes weighs over forty pounds.

Synonym: Mackinaw trout, lake trout, lake salmon, salmon trout, togue, and tuladi.

Origin: Indian name.
