(Science: anatomy) An inconstant and poorly developed muscle on the dorsal surfaces of the sacrum and coccyx, the remains of a portion of the tail musculature of lower animals.

Synonym: musculus sacrococcygeus dorsalis, dorsal sacrococcygeal muscle, musculus extensor coccygis, musculus sacrococcygeus posterior.
