(Science: statistics) The proportion of deaths in a population or to a specific number of the population. The ratio of deaths in an area to the population of that area; expressed per 1000 per year.

Questions regarding bloodborne viruses...

If you could figure out how the virus generates the positive effects, you wouldn't need the virus to do it; if you couldn't ... gaffe a lot of fiction makes. Pandemics, really bad ones, rarely have a mortality rate above 15%.
