A fabled monster, half man and half bull, confined in the labyrinth constructed by Daedalus in Crete.

Origin: L. Minotaurus, Gr.; Minos, the husband of Pasiphae _ tay^ros a bull, the Minotaur being the offspring of Pasiphae and a bull: cf. F. Minotaure.
