(Science: chemical) An ethanolamine derivative that is an adrenergic alpha agonist. It is used as a vasoconstrictor agent in the treatment of hypotension.

Pharmacological action: adrenergic alpha-agonists, sympathomimetic, vasoconstrictor agents.
