methylprednisolone

(Science: chemical) (6 alpha,11 beta)-11,17,21-trihydroxy-6-methylpregna-1,4-diene-3,2-dione. A prednisolone derivative which has pharmacological actions similar to prednisolone.

Pharmacological action: steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, antiemetics, glucocorticoids, synthetic, glucocorticoids, topical, neuroprotective agents.

Chemical name: Pregna-1,4-diene-3,20-dione, 11,17,21-trihydroxy-6-methyl-, (6alpha,11beta)-
