Metastatic calcinosis

Definition

noun

A type of calcinosis that occurs when there is abnormal calcium or phosphate metabolism. It may also be associated with hypercalcemia or hyperphosphatemia.


Supplement

Chronic renal failure is the most common condition in which metastatic calcification occurs.
